| Short Personal Biography |
By senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to practice medicine. I wasn't sure which I should pursue, however – vet medicine or human medicine. After volunteering at both a human and animal hospital, I decided that although I loved both, I would aim for veterinary school because it would offer me the best of both worlds: helping animals and humans at the same time. Its been 3 years since I've made that decision, and in that time I've spent a lot of time volunteering and working with animals in labs, hospitals, and rehab centers. I was in denial for a while, but I realized vet med was probably not the best for me. Although I love the medicine aspect of becoming a veterinarian, many other aspects of the job (such as allergies, smell, cases of neglect, a worsening debt to salary ratio, saturation of the job market, etc) made me realize that I should pursue another career. Since I never wanted to become an MD, I figured out that a career as a PA would be perfect for me. So here I am! <img src='http://physician-assistant-ed.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />
