Does anyone know of any schools that would start you right off the bat, including prereqs? I am wondering that, instead of getting all my prereqs done and then applying for a school, if there are any schools that once you get accepted start with the prereqs and go straight in to the program. There is a local college here in Kansas City that starts students right out of High School into an MD program. It is 6 years, and basically bypasses all the unnecessary electives and searching for med schools after premed. I’m not sure how possible this would be, mainly because I’m sure they would need some sort of qualifier to rank your acceptance on…

    Jay,

There are a handful of programs that have what we call a “Freshman Entry Option” where students can enroll and at times can expedite their progress towards becoming a PA. Each of these programs have different requirements. Off the top of my head, I cannot tell you exactly which programs have an option like this. What I can tell you is that each of our PA Program Profiles has a field entitled “Freshman Entry Option” in the Program Information table. Explore programs that have a “Yes” for this information. Here’s a pic to show you where the information is located in the profiles: http://screencast.com/t/Ha5Ff6m06v
