  • Jackie was born in Key West, Florida. She grew up in the greater Milwaukee area after about age 16. She attended Marquette University after high school with every intention of going to medical school. However, after a close friend of her’s dropped out of a surgical residency due to numerous difficulties, Jackie became disillusioned with the idea of medical school.

During her undergraduate studies, while working as an ECG tech, she met a cardiologist and a UW-Madison clinical preceptor who strongly influenced her decision to become a Physician Assistant. Shortly thereafter, she attended the University of Wisconsin Madison’s PA program and her career was born. As a new grad, Jackie initially practiced for two years in Pediatrics and then for ten years in Women’s Health. Next, she practiced in Urgent Care and concurrently took advantage of opportunities to teach in the PA educational setting. Her love for teaching led to a position as a faculty member at Marquette’s PA program, where she would end up spending 10 years serving as the Academic Coordinator. During this time she worked diligently to advance the curriculum and was rewarded with exceptional PANCE scores from her students. This success inspired Jackie to become involved in a certification/recertification review course for CME Resources, something she still participates in regularly today! Jackie also continues to practice part-time in Emergency Medicine at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

It wasn’t long after leaving Marquette’s program before Jackie started to miss teaching. Therefore, when an opportunity arose to contribute in a part-time capacity as an Outreach Coordinator at her alma mater, she couldn’t resist. In this capacity, she worked diligently to advance some of UW-Madison’s federally funded initiatives to expand care to rural and underserved communities. Finally, in addition to her many career opportunities, Jackie has balanced life as a single mother to two absolutely wonderful sons. They are truly the light of her life!
